The Transport Workers' Federation (AKT) is launching strikes in the stevedoring sector and in three road transport sectors.
The vast majority of Finland's exports and imports of goods pass through ports.
The first strikes will start as early as midnight today. Negotiations were held until the last minute. The AKT is also issuing new strike warnings from 1 March.
The strikes will start on Wednesday 15 February
- The stevedoring strike in the ports will start tomorrow 15 February at 6.00 a.m. and from then on until further notice.
- The strikes in the lorry, tanker and oil product sectors will start at the turn of the day on 15 February and end at midnight on 21 February.
- The strike in the terminal sector will start tomorrow morning 15 February at 6.00 a.m. and will continue until 6.00 a.m. on 22 February.

Finnlines, for example, has announced that if a strike starts, only units with a driver will be loaded. Read more in our previous news!
The strike will affect around 9000 workers.
New strike warnings from 1 March
The AKT has also issued new strike warnings:
- For the lorry sector, maintenance workshops and the tanker sector, the strike will start at 03.00 on 1 March and end at 03.00 on 8 March.
- For bus and coach crews, the strike will start at 03.00 on 1 March and end at 03.00 on 10 March.
- For the oil products sector, the strike will start at 05.00 on 1 March and end at 05.00 on 8 March.
- For terminal operations, the strike will start on 1 March at 06.00 and end on 8 March at 06.00.
