From a local office in Skive, Denmark, to a global transport and logistics provider
On this date in 1985, FREJA opened its doors in the city of Skive. FREJA started out with 10 trucks, offering door-to-door transport services to and from Norway, Sweden, and Germany. 40 years have passed, and FREJA now employs over 1,100 people across seven countries. It has been quite the journey, and we are proud to be a global full-service provider, offering a wide range of services, including road transport, air freight, sea freight, project forwarding, warehousing, pharma & healthcare logistics, 4PL services, and customs clearance.
A motto that has stuck with FREJA since the very beginning is “We keep our promises.” It is important to FREJA to deliver the services that our customers need and to deliver on time. This is only possible thanks to our dedicated employees, who have created a stable foundation for the business. We are proud that many of our employees have been with us for several years, with some even being with us since the very beginning and celebrating their 40-year anniversaries this year.
FREJA’s Group CEO, Ulrik Rasmussen, says: “We have crossed many milestones over the years, experienced ups and downs, but in the end, it all comes down to the people we have been lucky to work with both inside and outside the organization. We owe our success to our trusted customers, professional partners, and not least our dedicated employees. Therefore, I wish to express my gratitude to everyone who has been a part of our journey and supported us all the way.”
As we look to the future, FREJA will continue to develop and adapt to a world in motion, delivering reliable, innovative, and high-quality transport and logistics services. We are excited about the opportunities ahead and remain dedicated to delivering valuable solutions and exceptional service to our many customers.
Here's to the next 40 years of growth and success together.

Congestion in several ports in Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands has led to an increased risk of delays. Several ports have been affected, including Antwerp, Hamburg, and Rotterdam.
Longer transit times are a result of the congestion. The main cause of the congestion is driven by delays in berthing, with some ships experiencing a waiting time of 7-10 days for a free berth. Several factors have contributed to the current situation, including labor shortages, low terminal capacity, strike activities, and limited inland transport together with the implementation of the new shipping alliances.
Emergency measures against the congestion, such as adjusting the prioritization of quay spaces, have been implemented. These measures also result in extended transit times of 10-14 days. As a further consequence, the transit time from Northern Europe to the Arabian Gulf will increase from the usual 40-45 days to 55-70 days, and in some cases up to 90 days.
Belgium
Antwerp is still experiencing significant after-effects following a nationwide strike. Several of the quays are critically overloaded. The waiting time for barges is on average 103 hours. Truck spaces are also limited. The container opening has been reduced from 7 to 5 days before ETA, requiring interim storage of containers. Antwerp is heavily disrupted due to the congestion, delayed vessels and the reshuffling of the new shipping alliances.
Germany
German ports are affected by ship delays and delivery restrictions, but Bremerhaven and Wilhelmshaven are operating relatively well. In Hamburg, MSC's move to CTB has created complications with waiting times and high load as a result. Eurogate has had a positive effect from the change, but there is still some waiting time.
Netherlands
Rotterdam is struggling with staffing shortages, creating bottlenecks at Delta II. APM Terminals Maasvlakte is functioning well despite high load. RWG is experiencing delays due to congestion.

The conflict between the Swedish Dockworkers' Union and the Ports of Sweden is not yet over. The strike continues across the country until a new agreement is signed.
The measures announced below are specific to the Gothenburg RoRo port: From today until Sunday, June 1, there is a temporary pause in the strike between the Swedish Dockworkers' Union and the Ports of Sweden in the Gothenburg port. This means that we can expect somewhat normal operations until Sunday at 4:00 PM when the Dockworkers' Union has announced a new strike until June 3 at 11:00 PM.

We want to inform our customers about a strike notice for Swedish ports that may affect our traffic. The strike is planned to start on May 21 and may impact transport to and from Germany, the UK, Ireland, and via Ghent to the Benelux, France, Spain, and Portugal.
The Swedish Transport Workers' Union and the Swedish Dockworkers' Union have submitted a strike notice. The Dockworkers' Union plans a full strike on May 21 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM and a longer strike from May 22 to May 26. The Transport Workers' Union has announced a blockade from May 21 and possible actions in various ports from May 30 to June 15.
These actions may affect import and export flows, particularly via the Gothenburg RoRo port. In the event of a strike, we can expect delays and/or need to reroute our paths, which may lead to additional costs.
We thank you for your understanding and will keep you updated on the situation here on our website.
Please contact your usual FREJA contact for questions and inquiries.
