In connection with this year's central wage settlement, there is a violation of the negotiations between The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprises and Labour Organizations. The settlement therefore goes to mediation, which is carried out on the 30th and 31st of March, with a deadline that expires at 24.00 on Sunday the 31st. of March.

If there is no agreement within the deadline, or in the event of no mediation in overtime, it will result in strikes starting Monday 1st of April.

FREJA is not directly affected as a part by a possible strike, but the general cargo terminals in Eastern Norway, where we reload our trucks, will be partially affected.

Although we are already re-planning transports to reduce the inconveniences this will cause, a strike will in practice lead to delays.

We hope that the parties will come to an agreement during the mediation and will keep you informed as soon as news arrives related to this.

Any inquiries and questions can be directed to your FREJA contact person.

The terminal at FREJA in Taastrup is busy as an anthill. Throughout the week from Sunday night to Friday night, the terminal is full of cargo going in and out on its way further out into the world. The items should stay shortest time possible as they are only here in transit on their way to one of the four Nordic countries, to terminals at the European continent, or to one of the other FREJA warehouses in Denmark.

In order to support this activity, FREJA has recently made a sustainable choice and invested in six new electric forklifts from N.C. Nielsen. The forklifts are equipped with lithium-ION batteries, which keep the internal transport running 24/7. The forklifts rarely stand still and when they do, it is mainly to recharge in one of the specially designed quick loaders, which in only a few minutes are able to increase driving time considerably.

Terminal Manager in Taastrup Teddy Hansen says: “We have achieved a better flow than before as we save time by not having to change batteries and refill water. The lithium-ION batteries take care of themselves and we can recharge them fast in our quick loaders. At the same time they operate better than traditional batteries, last longer, and are more energy effective”.

In FREJA we are happy that the new electric forklifts give us operational, environmental-friendly, and financial advantages, and we are convinced that lithium-ION is the battery technology of the future.

An unsatisfactory development in the transport- and logistics group FREJA Transport & Logistics AB, Sweden, results in a larger restructure and replacement of managing director

Unfortunately, the development in 2018 has shown a negative trend. Therefore, management and board have initiated necessary precautions regarding the organization in Sweden.

This has resulted in the decision to gather all Nordic and Baltic traffics at our new HUB in Jönköping, where we also handle third-part-logistics. At the same time, we have decided to make use of external suppliers for local distribution in Stockholm.

FREJA has also made an agreement with managing director Anders Ekroth to go separate ways. Both parties have agreed that it takes a different and more road-oriented profile to carry out the planned changes, since road transport constitutes 85 % of FREJA’s turnover.

During 2018, FREJA Transport & Logistics AB has invested in the build-up of an Air & Sea division and we have strengthened our sales organization, which has given a positive development mainly during fall 2018.

FREJA Transport & Logistics AB’s ambition is still to consolidate our position as Swedish industry’s first choice of full-service provider of transport and logistics services having in mind that service, flexibility and quality always has our highest priority.

When the sixth edition of Made in Denmark begins on 23 May 2019 at Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort, it will mean the introduction of a new “last name”. Going forward, the tournament is called “Made in Denmark presented by FREJA”.

It is the Danish-based Transport & Logistics company, FREJA, who advance their support to the Made in Denmark organisation, to become an even bigger partner for the popular Danish event.

    - We are very excided that FREJA, who is one of our many loyal sponsors, have decided to increase their support to our tournaments going forward. FREJA is both as a sponsor and as a name (FREJA is the the Goddess of beauty and love in Nordic Mythology) a perfect match for Made in Denmark. Well, even the colours match, says a happy Made in Denmark Sales Manager, Thomas Nielsen.

Made in Denmark has been part of the European Tour schedule since 2014, and has quickly established itself as on of the most popular, intriguing and well-visited events on the European Tour.

The Made in Denmark presented by FREJA prize fund increases from 1.5 million euro last year to 3.0 million euro in 2019 and the following four years. Biogas has been used to fuel FREJA’s transport in Finland since the beginning of December 2018.

FREJA started semi-trailer transport in collaboration with Gasum with the Iveco Stralis NP tractor unit. The collaboration is related to a study carried out under the CIVITAS ECCENTRIC project co-funded by the EU.

This study produces research data on the use of gas in heavy-duty transport. The CIVITAS ECCENTRIC project is developing a sustainable mobility system by testing biogas vehicles and the increased use of biogas in logistics.

    – With gas our operating range is round 1,000 km. Gasum filling stations can be found easy along our transport route. Filling stations can be found in locations including Turku, the Helsinki Metropolitan Area and Jyväskylä. This study provides research data so that more operators can include gas-fuelled vehicles in their fleet, says Transport Coordinator Antti Setälä from FREJA.

    – It’s important to cut heavy-duty road transport emissions and it’s great that frontrunner operators such as FREJA make environment friendly choices. The transport use of LBG enables considerable emission reductions, and this development helps cut CO2 and fine particulate emissions in the Turku region, says Senior Sales Manager Jani Arala from Gasum.

Energy company Gasum is the leading supplier of biogas in the Nordic countries.

The transport use of biogas can reduce greenhouse gas emissions over the life cycle of the fuel by up to 85% when compared to traditional fuels.

Renewable biogas is produced from feedstocks.

    – We want to develop efficient transport solutions where the environmental burden is minimized. Quality and responsibility are our core values,” says Traffic Director Sampo Koulu from FREJA.

Finnish FREJA Transport & Logistics Oy, a part of the Nordic FREJA Group, offers road transport, sea freight and air freight. FREJA has offices in Turku (headquarters), Vantaa and Vaasa. Read more about FREJA’s quality and environment.

The CIVITAS ECCENTRIC project was launched to develop a smart and clean mobility system. The first Finnish CIVITAS city Turku aims for carbon neutrality through measures such as electrifying public transport and expanding the use of biofuels. Launched in September 2016, the EU co-funded CIVITAS ECCENTRIC tests biogas vehicles and the increased use of biogas in logistics. The project enables this piloting until 2020. Photos:
