We have received warning about two stages of changes regarding German road tax in 2018 and 2019.

    1. In July 2018 an addition of 40,000 km road will be imposed by road tax
    2. In January 2019 the present road tax will be adjusted to new and yet unknown rates

Today, Germany has about 15,000 km taxed roads - the so-called “Autobahnen” and “Schnellstrassen”. According to information sent out from the German authorities, an addition of 40,000 roads will be imposed by road tax, which in practice are all Bundesstrassen in Germany. Therefore, as of 1st July 2018 Germany will have a total of 55,000 km taxed roads.

In addition, we have been informed that the present rates will be adjusted. This is expected to have effected on 1st January 2019 with a validity to 2022.

These changes will have large consequences and will affect all transports in Germany as well as transit through Germany.

We do not yet know by 100 % security whether the dates mentioned above will be respected or changed and we have not yet calculated on the consequences hereof.

As soon as we have concrete dates and rates, we will be able to calculate the consequences and we will give more information.

Awareness about People’s Business combined with modern technology drives the ambitious FREJA towards new goals

The transport and logistics business FREJA Transport & Logistics Holding A/S presents a satisfactory result for 2017. Especially the subsidiary companies in Norway and Finland have delivered results much above market level. During 2017, FREJA has continued to invest heavily in as well the organization as in technology. However, a distinct awareness about the fact that transport is People’s Business means that we still have focus on creating strong relations with the customers. The ambitions are strong in the Danish transport enterprise. Adding the corporation Transcargo - which was purchased in 2018 - and the new possibilities coming with that, FREJA has good reasons to maintain the optimism in the future.

The FREJA Group continues the positive development in earnings for 2017
FREJA Transport & Logistics Holding A/S reports a growth in turnover from 2016 to 2017 of 5 %. The total turnover in 2017 comes to EUR 342 million.

EBIT amounts to EUR 5.58 million in 2017 compared to EUR 6.35 million in 2016. Profit before tax amounts to EUR 7.97 million in 2017 compared to EUR 6.16 million in 2016.

The Group equity has gone up from EUR 28.44 million in 2016 to EUR 33.89 million in 2017. Solvency ratio rises from 33.9 % to 37.2 % end of 2017. The development in the subsidiary companies in Norway and Finland is very positive, while Sweden does not live up to the expectations for 2017. We have reacted to the negative trend with a restructure of the Swedish management, and have employed a new country manager as well as HR manager. The segment Air & Sea has been strengthened by adding new resources, and the sales organization has been trimmed. We therefore have good reason to believe that Sweden will contribute in the future to the group’s development on the international transport market. Also in Denmark, we have invested in 2017 in new business areas and knowledge resources. In China the development has been stable and on September 1st we opened an office in Guangzhou.

In spite of massive investments in new technology, transport is still People’s Business
Throughout 10 years, FREJA has invested extensively in the IT-platform and 2017 is no exception. Partly, we invest to optimize our own business, partly to improve our competitiveness, but also to secure advantages for our customers in their value chain. We participate in a research project regarding exchange of data with customers and suppliers. We expect that the end product will give considerable financial advantages for all parties and thus help lift the Danish transport business.

”Our focus is still to develop the long-term relations with customers as well as suppliers. In spite of our focus on efficiency improvements, we are fully aware that humans are still the most important resource in the cooperation - transport is People’s Business. The keywords for us in a cooperation are openness, trust and credibility. We have always based our business on strong values. Every day, we work on making a difference for our customers and secure that together we will improve a little day by day”, says Jørgen Hansen owner and CEO in the FREJA Group.

Readiness and ongoing ambitions characterize the agenda in the always open-minded Danish enterprise
“A reasonable result for 2017, but we are ready and we have the ambitions to show that we can do even better. Sale and lease back of the property in Tumba (Sweden) has secured a record high result in 2017. In the coming years, the integration of the Padborg-based company Transcargo and our new position on the Polish market will have our main focus and will secure growth in turnover as well as earnings. We have the platform, and we are ready to reap the benefits of the massive investments during the past years in FREJA. Should there be further possibilities for consolidation, we will be ready to “take a look” at it”, Jørgen Hansen rounds off.

The Finance Bill for 2018 decided to introduce parking limitations and control of trucks on lay-bys in Denmark. Specifically this means, that any truck may park maximum 25 hours on the 90 lay-bys along the motorways in Denmark from the 1st of July 2018.

The new legislation implies extra costs for FREJA as the long weekend rest of 45 hours no longer can be held on the existing 90 lay-bys along the motorways.

Since FREJA has not yet received all relevant information regarding the new parking limitations, we do not know the financial consequences. We therefore need to underline that from the 1st of July we will introduce a surcharge to cover direct and indirect costs.

If you have any questions, please contact your usual contact person in FREJA.

The transport- and logistics company FREJA Transport & Logistics Holding A/S announces a satisfactory result for the first half of 2018. The merger with Transcargo has been completed in Denmark. Despite the one-off costs of the merger, Denmark comes out with a stable result. The subsidiaries in Norway and Finland continue to deliver results which are markedly above market level, just like the ”youngest” subsidiaries in Poland and China make positive contributions. A serious and solid sales promotion focusing on developing efficient and value-adding solutions for both FREJA and the customer creates strong customer relations. Focus on developing the business and investments in IT, RPA and employees remain high-priority and are contributing factors to the continued growth of the privately-owned Skive company.

Despite the effects of acquisitions and investments, the result of the first half of 2018 is satisfactory

FREJA Transport & Logistics Holding A/S ended 2017 by acquiring Transcargo in Padborg. The merger of the Danish activities was completed on 1 June, when Transcargo became part of FREJA Denmark. As anticipated, both turnover and revenue have been affected by the merger. It has been possible to retain both revenue and a positive development in the EBIT margin, which has increased by 0.1% in the six months from 2017 to 2018. However, the pre-tax profits have been affected by one-off costs in the sum of DKK 5.3 million relating to the acquisition of Transcargo and the subsequent merger of Danish activities in Transcargo. Add to this, significant investments in expanding logistics activities in Norway and the implementation of new, significant logistics customers who only contribute from Q3 onwards. In 2017, revenues were up in the sum of DKK 18.5 million from the sale of premises in Tumba, Sweden. This results in a total net decrease in pre-tax profits of DKK 17 million in comparison to the previous year. If the result is corrected for one-off income and expenditure, the result is a significant increase in ordinary operations.

The following key figures for FREJA Group are published with respect to the first half of 2018

FREJA Transport & Logistics Holding A/S reports a 19% growth in turnover for the first half of 2018 compared to the previous year. The total turnover for the first half of 2018 ends at a total DKK 1.55 billion.
EBIT for the first six months of the year total DKK 27.2 million in 2018 compared to DKK 21.4 million in 2017. The pre-tax profits of the year total DKK 21.2 million in 2018 compared to DKK 38.1 million for the same period of 2017.
The group equity capital has increased from DKK 241.1 million as of 30 June 2017 to DKK 275.1 million as of 30 June 2018. The solvency ratio decreased to 27.4 % as of 30 June 2018.

The development in the subsidiaries in Norway and Finland continues to be positive, Denmark continues the trend of stable growth whereas, in Sweden, there have been challenges during the first half of 2018. After a couple of years of investing in China, we now see a positive development providing a stable return. Poland is a new FREJA country after the acquisition of Transcargo and contributes positively to the overall revenues.

High quality and new post-merger markets ease sales promotions and provide unique possibilities for continued growth in FREJA
Jørgen Hansen, Group CEO, has on several occasions stated that FREJA is focusing on developing long-term relations with both customers and suppliers. While focusing on streamlining, FREJA is aware of the fact that people remain the most important resource in collaborations. The key traits in a strong collaboration are openness, trust and credibility. FREJA’s is based on a strong set of values and the mission is to develop the collaboration with customers on a daily basis. The first half of 2018 has been a busy time with the implementation of a number of significant customers in both Denmark and Norway.

”A reasonably satisfactory result for the first six months of 2018, taking into consideration the costs of acquisitions and the merger of Transcargo as well as the implementation of many new significant contracts. Given the new FREJA map, feeling optimistic about our ability to do even better is not difficult” – says Jørgen Hansen, Group CEO, and continues, ”Our new platform in Poland has provided us with new possibilities – we now have to take advantage of the competitive advantages on offer – both in Poland and in the FREJA Group as a whole. In addition to a unique platform, we have motivated and well-trained employees who, every day, are prepared to do better for our customers than the previous day. We look for possibilities that take us one step ahead of our competitors. This is why we train our ”organisation” in the skills necessary to do so. We will continue developing and investing in IT, RPA, training and people”, concludes Jørgen Hansen.

And for the average person in the street, it’s hard to obtain bitcoin and too complex to make a transaction. The main causes are a lack of education among retailers and the lack of an easy-to-use and trusted merchant platform. This is where we step in. Bitcoin is still young. Think of it as a moody teenager; sometimes the price is up ,sometimes it’s down. Cryptocurrencies are powerful, they allow any two people on the planet to transact freely with one another, this gain of freedom promises exciting innovations and lucrative opportunities. Christian has 30 years of experience on these markets, and is the person to bring FREJA several steps closer to reaching our ambition of being the market’s preferred quality-transport and logistics provider on the Scandinavian-Turkish market.
